Introduced in 1981, "Avis Varner" is a double, late-blooming lactiflora peony with wonderful deep red-purple flowers. The 90 cm stems are very firm and robust and, if disbudded, do not require support. This peony is very suitable as a cut flower in a vase and holds up very well in cooler climates. Its distinctive flowers have no fragrance but are extremely elegant and will certainly find their well-deserved place in your garden.

Height at maturity: 60/90 cm
Exposure: Sun / Partial shade
Flowering: May-July
Planting distance: 60/80 cm
