Charles Darwin is one of those English roses that draws the eye not with garish colors, but with the elegance and depth of its shades. Created by the famous breeder David Austin, this variety impresses with its rich, fragrant flowers and that unmistakable charm of classic English roses.
The flowers are large, very full, and rounded at first, gradually opening into wide, elegant cups. Their color is a warm and sophisticated yellow which, depending on the stage of blooming and growing conditions, can take on superb mustard-yellow tones.
But Charles Darwin does not win you over with its appearance alone. Its flowers have a strong and distinct fragrance, in which delicate tea notes blend with fresh accents of lemon. It is that complex and elegant scent that turns every approach to the bush into a true experience.
The plant forms a robust, well-developed bush with a broad habit, reaching approximately 110 cm in height and 140 cm in width at maturity. It is a repeat bloomer, with flowers appearing in several waves throughout the season.
Charles Darwin can be planted in beds and borders, as well as in groups or low floral hedges. It is also suitable for cultivation in sufficiently generous containers and can grow in both full sun and partial shade.
A rose for those who appreciate unique shades, rich flowers, and the authentic fragrance of English roses.
